Hyster has launched a new range of heavy duty forklift trucks and dedicated container handlers. With lifting capacities of 25-32 tonnes, the H25-32XM range comprises nine new models, three of which are "ultra-compact" for use where space is limited.
"They are all designed to offer a unique blend of high productivity, reliable proven components, fuel efficiency and outstanding driver comfort in the ports or in heavy industry," said Antoon Cooijmans, big trucks product manager for Hyster Europe.
The range includes four standard size forklift models, three ultra-compact units with wheelbases of 3.655-3.935 metres, and two container handlers equipped with a dedicated carriage for the container spreader.
The new models feature the QSC8.3 Cummins Tier 3diesel engine. The powertrain ensures increased dependability for long periods of peak power operation, said Hyster, with protection for the engine and the three-speed transmission.
"The H25-32XM range is packed with features to reduce energy consumption and save fuel and ensures drivers maintain comfort and concentration throughout a shift" added Cooijmans.
The trucks are designed to provide maximum power only on demand, when really needed, with load-sensing hydraulics that "feel" the load weight that is lifted.
As maximum loads are not always handled, fuel savings of 5-15% can be achieved, according to the manufacturer. The operating speed of the hydraulic functions – lift, tilt, side shift, fork-positioners – can also be adjusted to suit the requirements of a specific application.
Built-in flexibility for various fork handling duties is accomplished with a "dual-function" carriage. The hook-style design with a “quick-disconnect” mounting feature for the forks enables fast exchange between forks and attachments such as a coil ram.
Side-shift and fork-positioning functions are featured as standard and include two fork-positioning working ranges, enabling a uniquely wide "in-to-in" or "out-to-out" working range of the forks. A robust mast offers extra strength thanks to the unique “six-roller” construction for heavy lifts up to 6.2 metres high.
The H25-32XM range is equipped with the Vista cabin, providing all-round visibility low noise level and improved ergonomics.
Maintenance requirements are kept to a minimum with features such as oil-immersed brakes and increased service intervals of 500 hours, contributing to lower overall operating costs. A tilting cab ensures easy access to key components for easier servicing.
